Boil 1 pint of water, then pour into bowl. Add two packets of gelatine and stir until it dissolves. if you're allowing your child/children to help with this part, please supervise closely.
Slowly add small amounts of bird seed at a time. You want to make sure all of the bird seeds are fully coated in the gelatin mixture. This is what helps the feeders stick together.
Cover your tray in aluminum foil, then place the cookie cutters on top.
Fill the cookie cutters wit h the homemade bird food mixture. Use the back of a spoon to pack the mixture into the cookie cutter tightly.
Cut the straw into 1 inch pieces. Push the straw into the bird food mixture to make a hole for hanging your bird feeders once done.
Place the tray into the refrigerator for a few hours. Take them our and leave them in a
warm room to dry overnight.
Really carefully and slowly push the bird feeders out of the cutters using your fingers.
Cut the ribbon or string to your desired length. Loop it through the hole and tie together.
Hand and enjoy your bird feeder.
