Services -What Do We Do?

Our primary goal is to support learning & development, engage parents, and make connections for families.  You and your child can visit the EarlyON Child and Family Centre for a range of free services, including drop-in playgroups, virtual programming, workshops, referrals and libraries.

Our Guiding Philosophy:  

 

To build healthy and responsive adult-child relationships that support children's exploration and learning through play.  Our RECEs are supported by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's pedagogy for the Early Years.

Drop-in Playgroups: 

 

Playgroups are an opportunity for parents, caregivers, and their children to engage in early learning activities and networking. (due to COVID-19, playgroups are currently postponed.)

Virtual Programming:

We offer a wide variety of activity and support services, including:

  •  Activity KIts (delivered to your home).

  • Circle Time

  • Words Worms Book Club

  • Bed Time Stories

  • Snack Attack

  • Parent/Caregiver Support Groups

  • 1-on-1 Support

  • Tea Party (Zoom)

  • Nailed It Challenge

  • Photo Challenges

  • and much more!

Workshops & Programs: 

 

Our workshops & programs help empower parentings by gaining more knowledge on early childhood development, becoming informed about pre & postnatal services and other related topics.  Past programming has included:

  • Baby Moccasin Making

  • Baby Food Making 

  • Zumbini

  • Infant Massage

  • Immunization information sessions

  • Looksee Screenings

Information & Referral::

 

Early years specialists are available on-site, by phone, or email to answer your questions or refer you to appropriate resources.

Referrals can be made to community programs and outside services such as: 

  • Healthy Babies Healthy Children

  • Child Nutrition

  • Akwesasne Childcare

  • Head Start

  • Speech Therapy

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Hardship Grants for Families

  • Jordan's Principle

Toy Library 

 

A great variety of toys for children 0 to 6 years of age are available for loan free of charge.. 

Resource Library:  

 

Parenting books and videos, resource books, and children’s books are available to borrow.
